LICENSURE RENEWAL UNIT
FOR ATTENDING THE IWLA CONFERENCE

Any in-service world language teacher may earn one licensure renewal unit for attending the IWLA Conference. This is offered through the Linda Baker Teacher Leader Center at the University of Iowa College of Education.

Registration Deadline: Thursday, October 11, 2018.

Fee: $50, paid to the University of Iowa's Linda Baker Teacher Leader Center. 

Course Requirements:

  • Participants must attend the Iowa World Language Association conference for at least 15 hours total. The hours of the conference in 2018 are 8:30-8 on Friday and 8-5:30 on Saturday.

  • Please contact Pam Wesely (email below) for a syllabus for more information about the requirements.


Capstone Project: After the conference, participants will need to complete an online survey in order to report about their experiences at the conference.

To register: Go to https://education.uiowa.edu/services/baker-teacher-leader-center-tlc/professional-development-educators. The course title is "Iowa World Language Association Conference." Follow the necessary steps to create an account.

Getting your certificate:  Upon successful completion of the licensure renewal course, the Teacher Leader Center will send you an email with instructions explaining how to access your completion certificate within their database.

GRADUATE CREDIT
FOR ATTENDING THE IWLA CONFERENCE

French, Spanish, and German teachers can earn one graduate credit in the language for attending the IWLA conference.  This is offered through Simpson College.

These are CE courses, with a fee of $100 for tuition. 

GER 910 WEB  IWLA Conference Capstone

Course description: This course grants 1 graduate credit for conference participants who attend at least one Friday workshop and all day Saturday, and who then complete a reflections paper about the experience.

FREN 910 WEB  IWLA Conference Capstone
