Noah GeiselOur 2015 conference in Des Moines was held in Des Moines on October 9-10, 2015.
Noah Geisel, 2013 ACTFL Teacher of the Year, brought a lot of energy as our Keynote Speaker and inspiring us to #LeadwithLanguages. We've been posting a lot of picture on our Facebook page, so check them out!

Congratulations again to our 2015 Award and Grant winners!

The IWLA Executive Board is excited to welcome Vice President Pam Wesely and Advocacy Chairperson Loni O'Grady, and to welcome back Carrie Morris, who was re-elected as Secretary.

Other Initiatives and Updates:

The Executive Board will continue their work on behalf of Iowa world language teachers, advocating for world languages and collaborating with the Iowa Department of Education to move forward with model competencies, organized by proficiency level, for our state. We are also pursuing the Seal of Biliteracy in Iowa. More information coming soon!
